Inuvik is located on the northwestern corner of the Northwest Territories 2 degrees inside the Arctic Circle, and is the gateway to the Beaufort-Delta. Inuvik is home to the Gwich’in and Inuvialuit people, and other aboriginal and non-aboriginal people.
Inuvik has plenty of Government and Government related activity, as well as construction, gas, exploration, tourism, and community association business. The long summer days, extraordinary Northern Lights, and beautiful scenery make Inuvik a most interesting destination.
While in Inuvik be sure to: experience the annual sunrise festival, join the muskrat Jamboree, attend the Inuvik Petroleum Show, check out the Great Northern Arts Festival and the End of the Road Music Festival, drive the legendary Dempster Highway and the Ice Road, fish the Delta, and see the spectacular Northern Lights!
